PHASING OUT OF CHEQUES
The Bank of Zambia wishes to inform members of the public that the notice currently circulating on social media platforms titled "Public Notice on Phasing out of cheques" has not been issued by the Bank of Zambia.
While the BoZ is currently discussing the possibility of phasing out cheques with stakeholders, these consultations are still ongoing. The Bank will accordingly issue a public statement once these engagements are concluded, and a decision is made.
We therefore appeal to members of the public to ignore the said public notice.
